October Market Update: How is the Miami Valley trending?
We are officially in the fourth quarter of the year. As the year comes to a close, people begin to wonder about the housing market. Some say the fall and winter are the slow season, but what does the market look like right now?
Whether you’re in the process of buying or selling, considering a move, or just plain curious, I have some answers for you regarding our current housing market.
Residential sales in Miami County saw a drop in average home price, number of closings, and average days on the market. There were 98 sales in September, compared to 100 sales in August. It’s a very small, 2% decline.
In September, the average home value was $283,265, compared to $309,981 in August. This is about an 8.5% decline, but overall, it is still a small decline.
Finally, the average days on the market were 60 in September and 62 in August. This two-day difference is also small, but it means houses sold faster!
