Spring is Here, and So Am I: Helping You Find Your Happy Place Around Wright-Patterson AFB

Spring is Here, and So Am I: Helping You Find Your Happy Place Around Wright-Patterson AFB

After a wild Ohio winter, signs of spring are sprouting near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and I couldn’t be happier. I love the promise of fresh beginnings and the kick-off to a busy real estate market, including the hustle and bustle of military home buyers during the PCS season.

Military families across the country are prepping for moves as I write this. Purging, donating, and yard sale planning are all in the works. I remember those days! There is so much to do, including the daunting task of finding a home, often from a distance. I feel honored to have had the chance for 18 years to help hundreds of military families and veterans buy the homes they dream about.

In the spirit of the season of renewal, it’s the perfect time to reconnect with old friends and introduce myself to new ones!

For many of you, I’m Teresa Gustafson, a fellow military spouse, veteran, and trusted Realtor. But for some of you, this might be our first meeting. You’ll be hearing more from me in the coming months, so let me share a few get-to-know-me facts.

Proud Mom of Five

I have a vibrant family with five exceptional children, ages 17 to 30. Two of my sons are veterans—one served in the Navy as a Rescue Swimmer, and the other is a member of the Army National Guard. My three other children fill me with pride and awe every day. They’re thriving in their career, college, and high school journeys.

Military Background

Before my career in real estate, I served in the Army for seven years and also experienced 16 years as a military spouse. As you can imagine, I have a strong understanding of the ups and downs of the military lifestyle. These experiences inspire the care and dedication I bring to every client interaction.

In My Free Time

I’ll admit that my favorite activity is everything related to real estate (even lawn maintenance!), especially closing days when smiles abound. But, when I’m not helping the military buyer community grow roots in the Dayton Wright-Patt areas, I like to hit up a concert on the weekends or hike with my family, including our dogs Goose and Lucy Lou, aka Pretty Girl.

Passionate About Service

I love helping veterans and military families find the perfect property. I understand the unique challenges and opportunities of military life, and I’m here to guide you through the home buying process with ease and expertise. One of my favorite ways for my future clients to get to know me is to share testimonials from my clients.

“The perfect agent. She found a place for me within the 1st 2 weeks.”
“Teresa was awesome to work with and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.”

PCS to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

Speaking of Wright-Patt, I’ve helped countless families stationed there to find homes they adore, even during low-supply real estate markets. If you’re on your way, let me offer some tips to start your house hunt.

Take Advantage of Your VA Loan Benefit
Over the last few years, buying a home with a VA loan has been challenging for military families. However, as a Military Relocation Professional (MRP), I’m well-versed in VA loans, having helped military buyers with more than 100 over the last four years. I can also connect you with an experienced lending partner to maximize your benefits.

Research Your Preferred Location
Wright-Patterson AFB encompasses a large area, so consider your office location on base when calculating commute times between work and home. Dayton is the largest city nearby, but other smaller communities include Kettering, Huber Heights, Fairborn, Riverside, Springfield, Beavercreek, Xenia, and Troy. Now is the time to rack and stack your neighborhood must-haves, like family-friendly amenities, walkability, HOAs, and access to popular shopping like Starbucks or Target.

Explore School Districts
Parents often prioritize high-performing schools when they begin researching new cities. Reach out to Wright Patt’s Student Liaison Officer to help you learn about the Mad River Local School District and Fairborn City Schools in addition to private schools.

Whether you’re a seasoned military family or a newcomer to the area, count on me as your partner in navigating the Wright Patt-Dayton housing market. I’m committed to providing exceptional service, expert advice, and unwavering support throughout your home buying journey.
